Η πολυσυλλεκτική γκαλερί XeniArtSpace, παρουσιάζει την αριστουργηματική έκθεση Women in Focus, η οποία σκιαγραφεί τη γυναικεία μορφή. H σπάνια και υψηλής αισθητικής φωτογραφική εμπειρία εξερευνά τη γυναικεία παρουσία μέσα από τον φακό μερικών από τους σημαντικότερους και πιο εμβληματικούς φωτογράφους του 20ού αιώνα.
Η καθηλωτική εικαστική αφήγηση Women in Focus, αποτελεί ένα ταξίδι στην ιστορία της εικόνας, της επιθυμίας, της ταυτότητας και της θηλυκότητας. Μέσα από το φακό θρύλων της φωτογραφίας, η γυναίκα αποκαλύπτεται ως μούσα, σύμβολο, δύναμη, μυστήριο και πολιτισμικό αποτύπωμα, σε σπουδαία φωτογραφικά έργα που καθόρισαν τη σύγχρονη οπτική κουλτούρα.
Η γυναίκα δεν αποτυπώνεται απλώς ως θέμα, αλλά ως διαχρονική πηγή έμπνευσης και αντανάκλαση μιας ολόκληρης εποχής. Από τη σαγηνευτική τόλμη και την ακαταμάχητη ματιά του Helmut Newton, μέχρι την εκλεπτυσμένη και διαχρονική κομψότητα των Richard Avedon και Irving Penn, την ποιητική αμεσότητα του Henri Cartier-Bresson και την αριστοκρατική αισθητική των Horst P. Horst και Cecil Beaton, η έκθεση συνθέτει έναν συναρπαστικό κόσμο εικόνων που άφησαν ανεξίτηλο αποτύπωμα και έχουν καθορίσει στην ιστορία της φωτογραφίας.
Σε αυτή την εικαστική ωδή στη θηλυκότητα, συμμετέχουν και άλλοι σπουδαίοι δημιουργοί, όπως οι Ruth Bernhard, Flor Garduño, Robert Mapplethorpe, Terence Donovan, Rudolf Koppitz και Sebastião Salgado, καλλιτέχνες που επαναπροσδιόρισαν τη σχέση ανάμεσα στην εικόνα και το συναίσθημα.

Όλα τα έργα της έκθεσης προέρχονται από τη συλλογή του Vadim Levin, ενός από τους σημαντικότερους και πιο αφοσιωμένους συλλέκτες φωτογραφίας του 20ού αιώνα. Φωτογράφος, συγγραφέας και ερευνητής, ο Levin έχει αφιερώσει τη ζωή του στη διατήρηση και ανάδειξη της παγκόσμιας κληρονομιάς των μεγάλων δημιουργών της φωτογραφίας.
Η Επιμελήτρια, Συλλέκτρια και Ιδρύτρια της γκαλερί XeniArtSpace, κα Xenia Kulbachevskaya, τονίζει ότι η γυναίκα του 20ού αιώνα δεν ήταν ποτέ μια στατική εικόνα. Υπήρξε μυστήριο, δύναμη, επιθυμία, ελευθερία και αντανάκλαση μιας ολόκληρης εποχής, αναφέρει. Μέσα από τον φακό των μεγάλων δημιουργών, η γυναίκα μεταμορφώνεται, γίνεται μούσα, πρόκληση και καθρέφτης της κοινωνίας. Αυτό που με συναρπάζει, σε αυτές τις φωτογραφίες είναι ότι εξακολουθούν να έχουν φωνή, να προκαλούν συναίσθημα, σκέψη και σιωπηλή ένταση. XeniArtSpace presents Women in Focus, a major exhibition dedicated to the representation of women in 20th-century photography, exploring the female form through the lens of some of the most significant and iconic photographers of the medium.
The visual narrative of Women in Focus unfolds as a journey through the history of image, desire, identity and femininity. Through the lens of legendary photographers, the Woman is revealed as muse, symbol, strength, mystery and cultural imprint, captured in extraordinary works that shaped contemporary visual culture.
The Woman is not merely portrayed as a subject, but as a timeless source of inspiration and a reflection of an entire era. The exhibition brings together a compelling collection of images that left an indelible mark on the history of photography: the seductive boldness and unmistakable gaze of Helmut Newton; the refined, timeless elegance of Richard Avedon and Irving Penn; the poetic immediacy of Henri Cartier-Bresson; and the aristocratic sophistication of Horst P. Horst and Cecil Beaton.
This visual ode to femininity also features celebrated artists, including Ruth Bernhard, Flor Garduño, Robert Mapplethorpe, Terence Donovan, Rudolf Koppitz and Sebastião Salgado, artists who redefined the relationship between image and emotion.
The exhibition was born from the desire to reconnect with images that transcend aesthetic value and become carriers of memory, identity and cultural expression, creating a deeply personal dialogue between the artwork and the viewer.
All works are drawn from the collection of Vadim Levin, one of the most dedicated and visionary collectors of 20th-century photography. A photographer, author and researcher, Levin has devoted his life to preserving and advancing the global legacy of the great masters of photography.
Curator, Collector and Founder of XeniArtSpace, Xenia Kulbachevskaya, notes that the woman of the 20th century was never a static image. “She embodied mystery, strength, desire, freedom and the reflection of an entire era,” she says. “Through the lens of the great masters, woman transforms into a muse, a provocation and a mirror of society. What fascinates me about these photographs is that they still have a voice; they continue to evoke emotion, thought and silent intensity. Each work seems to carry its own story, allowing the viewer not simply to observe but to connect personally with the image.”
XeniArtSpace invites the public to experience Women in Focus, a rare encounter with the titans of photography whose images continue to define beauty and contemporary visual expression.
The exhibition contains nude photography and is intended for audiences aged 16 and over.
